Chapter 1

Technology has advanced over the past years. Technology is in our everyday daily lives whether we notice it or not. Young children know so much about technology. One thing that caught my attention was about teaching our 21st-century learners with technology. Becoming a teacher and using technology can help me build a relationship with students because that is what students love to use more often, whether it is an iPod to listen to music while doing work or using the internet to do assignments in the classroom instead of writing with a pencil. At Technology Integration Ideas that work have some great ideas on how to use technology in a classroom with the students' assignments or projects. I think it is a wonderful idea to use technology more often for the students' projects and I think it will help on saving trees (paper).

Another thing that I learned about was about BrainPOP. Brainpop is a website that has science, math, social studies, English, arts & music, health and engineering tech. I think using this website is a creative way to use a new curriculum and it can be fun and exciting for students to learn about a subject. I think using BrainPOP can be one way we can introduce our children to technology. We can introduce our students to technology by having them having fun while they are learning at the same time. Here is a short video that gives you some information about BrainPop and the benefits of it.

Lastly, introducing technology to our 21st-century students is a way to help them get ready and be successful and having a better understanding of technology. As shown in figure 1.2 it shows the skills that students can gain by using technology. Letting our students use technology can be a way to connect with them. One thing about teaching and using technology in our classrooms can benefit by giving the children a motivation on doing their assignments more often. One way we can benefit from technology is having more resources online. We can have a laptop or iPads on each student's desk and instead of using a book they can just have the book online. There are so many ways a teacher can use technology and have a great learning experience with it and their students.

In conclusion, teaching 21st century learns has become where technology is in our daily lives. Instead of trying to make our students bored with just pencils and paper we should use technology often. Also, since we can not beat them we might as well join them with the technology. Students at a very young age begin to use it more often and probably a 5-year-old can use an iPad better than a teacher. So, I say instead of trying to take technology away from them we should introduce them into it and use technology in our classrooms and use it in a fun and exciting way and maybe like that students will be more motivated to learn new materials.
