Chapter 12

As I began to read chapter 12 the first thing that caught my attention was technology integration stages and issues. I think it is a great idea having a technology-using educator that can help a student in technology. Technology is now becoming more popular and advance with all these new things. It can be pretty difficult when someone you don't have someone to guide you when using a new technology or a webpage. For instance, like me when I started online classes it was a little difficult for me because I wasn't use to all the technology having to turn in homework online or figuring out the assignments because I've always been an in class person where I need to see a teacher explaining things. Being able to explore the technology was and still is an experience for me. Having that teacher to help you threw technology is a great way to start and it is fun and learning experience. Students will be more motivated to do their school work. In this website Five Ways Teachers Can Use Technology to help Students.

The next thing I seen in this chapter was about the one-to-one laptop computing. I believe having that one-to-one laptop or tablet is a great opportunity for those children who don't have access to one at home. Having them at school will give them a better opportunity to catch up on research homework assignments or being able to write an essay for a classroom. Another thing I have always said it gets the students engage and wanting them to do their work because they don't need to use a paper and pencil that get's their hands tired from writing. Having a one-to-one computer will get the students engage and involve and that's what every teacher wants to be able to get their students engaging and wanting to learn.

The third thing I came across was about interactive digital textbooks. Being able to have access with digital textbooks is a great tool we can all use. Books can be heavy depending on how many classes a student takes and the use of books. Being able to use the book online can make it easier and accessible. For instance what if one day a student forgot to bring their textbook home to do homework they can just easily log online and use the digital textbook to do their assignment. Students enjoy technology and this is one way we can get students to read materials instead of a big and heavy textbook.

In conclusion, after reading chapter 12 there are different ways a teacher can integrate technology in their classrooms. Teachers can help and teach students how to use a technology tool to help them be successful later on in life. It can be hard not having someone how to teach you how to use a new tool.
Being able to have computers and laptops in a classroom is a great idea. Students can have an opportunity to do homework assignments and be more engaging and involved in the classrooms. Having a tablet with books on it is way more easier and students don't need to be able to carry a heavy book everyday. Technology is improving more as the years pass by so what better way to use it is to having it in our classrooms so the students can benefit from them.

  1. Maria,

Great job on your blog post! You had some very valid points about technology that you brought up. Educators today should definitely be technology-using educators. Technology has become so popular in today’s society and therefore, teachers should incorporate more digital tools into their lessons. Schools should find more ways of providing students with digital tools to use in school that they may not necessarily have at home. Incorporating more digital tools, will give students an opportunity to grow academically inside and outside the classroom. They will be able to access work/assignments from home as well as engage in different online discussions and projects. There are so many new ways to incorporate technology that will motivate our students to do required material and succeed in the long run.
